Radley at 6 Months

So in two days Radley is actually going to be 9 months!  I have done a terrible job of updating our blog. However, I at least want to show off his 6 months photo shoot that my very talented sister did of him.  I love him in that tie and hat :)  You bring so much joy to my life little one.  I love watching you grow and do new things everyday!

Radley is Now 5 Months Old

I actually had to take you in to the doctor the day you turned 5 months because you had a horrible, sad cough.  They said your throat was also really red and put you on some medicine which helped a lot.  So I now have updated stats:

Weight 19lbs 2oz

Length 26 3/4 inches

What a sweet, bright eyed boy you have turned out to be.  I just love you so so much.  I love holding you and  showing you the world.  I love kissing your huge cheeks and getting wet slobbery kisses from you!  This month you have just become a big baby, it seems, and want to know all about everything.  You still love your sister more than anything.  You have become so good now when we go out, even better behaved that your sister.  You are my laid back happy boy.  Although you are still a challenge going and staying in bed.  I pray that improves soon!

Radley at 4 Months

At your 4 month check up:

 Weight 17lbs12oz in the 95 percentile

Your height 25 3/4 inches in the 75 percentile

Your sister was super patient as I did your 4 month shoot.

This is one of Selah's favorite things to do, climb up on this toy and then climb over the sofa.  She probably does it about 20 times a day.  You love watching her!!

Oh, our sweet Radley.  You are just the greatest joy.  A really big baby, but somehow you seem normal-sized to us since Selah was also so big.  I love all your rolls and especially your chubby cheeks.  You are doing so much now.  You love standing while we hold your hands.  You have the strongest legs.  This month you started bouncing in the Jumperoo and you are so good at it.  You are such an intense boy and quite bright-eyed.  You chew on your fingers, drool like crazy, and talk up a storm.  You like to roll over on your side now, but not all the way over to your tummy...although you have done it before.  This month we have had some breakthroughs with you.  Normally you hate your car seat and being in the car, you cry the entire time at the top of your lungs.  But we found that if there is a good show on, you might not scream the whole time.  So although I have never been a supporter of movies in the car, we now have it all set up for you.  It has really helped lower our stress level in the car!  You still have to be swaddled and then bounced to sleep.  You are not a fan of the side to side motion, it's gotta be up and down.  We are so grateful to the Poseys for letting us use their exercise ball.  It provides the perfect level of bounce as you drift into sleep, plus it gives us a much needed workout.  I am also so thankful for the swing, that is where you take most of your naps.

A Day with Selah

Although mosquitos continue to plague our home, we have been spending much more time outside since the weather has been so wonderful lately. Selah definitely loves the outdoors! These are shots of her busy filling her bucket with rocks and leaves, pushing her dolly cart, playing ball, exploring, trying on Mommas necklases, and talking to Daddy when he comes home from work about their day.

I have realized that there is so much I do not want to forget about what is going on in Selah's life right now, and that it would probably be a good idea to write these things down.


At 15 1/2 months Selah weighs 22lbs and is 32.5inches. She is in the 30th percentile for weight and in the 90th for height. Her hair is getting so long and is a dirty strawberry blond color. There are sweet curls at the ends, but she looks her cutest when I put it up in pigtails.


She is quite the communicator. I am so proud of her lately as she has been picking up more and more signs everyday. So far she can do: please, thank you, more, all done, baby, help, friend, fish, bird, butterfly, eat, drink, milk, tree, kiss, and quiet.


Selah will at times talk up a storm in her own language. It is super cute. However, the only words she says in English are Mommy, Daddy, bye bye, ball, baby, hi, uh-oh, and the sweetest no you have ever heard.


Our challenges with her have been teaching her not to throw her food when she doesn't want. Also teaching her how not to hit, and instead be gentle. She gives our poor blind dog Holly quite the beating everyday. Also she will throw a fit if you put her down when she isn't ready.


I love her sweet nurturing side. She just loves babies. Everyday she gives her dolls and stuffed animals a bottle and sometimes even burps them. She freaks out at any baby sighting we have when we are out or at church. She starts craddling one arm, which is her sign for baby and wants to go take a look and point out how the baby also has eyes, hair and a nose just like us. She also wants to pet the baby. This goes for kids older then her too. She thinks they are babies until around the age of three. She will also touch my tummy when I ask her where her baby brother, Radley is. It is adorable. Although she will then touch her tummy too, like she has a baby growing inside her as well.


Selah is such a girly girl. She loves to put on my jewelry. Everyday I will see her come out of my closet with a couple of necklaces around her neck. A few weeks ago Keith found her wearing a pair of my underwear around her neck just as a necklace, it was quite a sight! She also likes to have a purse. For now she uses the tiny Victoria's Secret bags. She fills them up with all sorts of strange things and carries them around on her upper arm with her hand in the air. It is awesome to watch her stay busy playing!


Every night I go and check on her sleeping and it is just my favorite thing in the world. I have never seen something more beautiful and precious. It will be something I will always treasure.
