Our 11 Month Old

Sweet Selah you are growing so fast. It is hard to believe that in another month you will be a year. I love you so so much. You do the cutest stuff now. You love to wave and will sometimes whisper hi or bye bye. Giving high fives is your favorite, they always make you laugh, a cute high pitch giggle. You will give me a kiss if I ask for it now and although they are normally very wet, I don't get tired of them.

In San Antonio last week you got on all fours for the first time. I teared up. You keep doing it, although it has not caused you to crawl yet, instead you use it to sit down. You are so strong and can balance well when you stand up. Your favorite toy now it your mailbox, which you open and close so many times in a row. You are still such a Daddies girl. You brighten up the most when you see your Daddy.

After California you got a cold sore which turned into impetigo, this horrible bacterial skin infection. It is taking forever to heal. You were such a trooper for it all. A few days ago you had your first fever during the night. It was awful to hear you moaning. I took you to the doctor the next day and you had an ear infection.

Here are some pictures of you at 10 1/2 months old, you have chocolate on your dress from some ice cream we shared for lunch:

Selah's cute wave.

Sporting your new hair style.

Selah with her Grammy. They got to spend most of the day last Friday together while my Mom babysat for us so that we could go to a wedding. It was the longest I have been away from my daughter. They got along great!

Cali Trip

We took a trip to California in March. We finally got the chance to visit Keith's brother Brent and his wife who now live in Beverly Hills. The have a sweet set up with a cute house in a beautiful area of town and the best weather.

This was Selah's first big trip. She rode on a plane and did amazing by sleeping in my lap the whole time. All the new sights, and new people were so fun for her and she did so good. It was like getting to meet a whole new side of her. She of course didn't love all the hours in the car though, but again did better then I expected for sure. We covered so much California territory...LA to Mammoth then back to LA then a full day north to Monterey, then on to San Leandro and the San Francisco.

It was wonderful to get to visit family and good friends that we haven't seen in a long time. We had such a good time and loved the variety of weather. Keith got a couple days of snowboarding in and I even got to ski a couple runs. California is such a cool state, because you can be enjoying the sunshine in LA by the beach and a few hours away have a ton of snow to play in.

Here are some pictures of our travels:

Santa Monica Pier

Brent and Lori Beth at Muscle Beach

Crazy, but this is the only picture I took while we were in Mammoth. There was so much snow on the ground, but it wasn't to cold.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then we drove to Monterey to visit our friends Ben and Joy.

The drive took us all day, a long car day. It was a very beautiful drive though. In this picture we were wondering if we were going to go over this bridge...though as we got closer we saw that it wasn't purple water, it was wildflowers!

Highway 58 was so gorgeous, full of rolling mountains and all sorts of flowers of every color.

Joy took us hiking at Point Lobos in Carmel. It was so beautiful.

Selah loved riding on Daddies back.

Sweet Elijah! So full of life.

It was good to be with friends that have been so missed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then on to San Francisco
My only picture of Ben. Look at the long hair, I am still not use to it. It was really great to see him. We met him for lunch in at this rad place where they put your fries in the sandwich! genius.
Selah did such a good job taking both naps in her stroller as walked the streets.

We got to stay with Keith's friend Christian, and his sweet wife Caitlin.

Thank you to everyone we stayed with! You were so sweet to give us a place to sleep and feed us such fancy dinners. What wonderful friends!! We had such a good time.

9 Months Old Now

Our little girl turned 9 months old today.

I look at her and just can't believe she is really here and mine...it is a dream come true for me. Since I was a little girl I dreamed about being a Mom and having my own baby. Now it has come true and it is far better then my dreams went.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Selah, you are such a joy to be around. I love how you smile at life after waking up. How excited you are to get up yet again. It changes my mood instantly. How wonderful it is for you to see Daddy from across the room or spot Holly lurking about the house.

You really study this world. So often you will just watch life without an expression or noise. I wonder so much what you are thinking about it.

You do not have any teeth nor do you crawl. You prefer to steamroller across the room. You are so strong. You still have this horrible obsession with hair and have pulled out most of mine already. You love to swing and bounce of course. I love watching you grow sweet one.

Snow Day 2010

It snowed in College Station Tuesday. It was beautiful and such a treat for us to get to see. Selah didn't know what to think about it at first, I think she was just trying to take it all in. After her nap she seemed to like it much more.

The Bouncer

Selah is now 8 months old!! That sounds so old. She is doing great. After a hard month of sleeping struggles, and crying, Selah has much improved. She now consistently sleeps through the whole night!!

She is rolling over both ways now and steam rolling to where she wants to go. It is so fun to watch her roll across the room and how proud she is of her self for doing it.

I would have to say bouncing is still her number one skill. She is a wonderful bouncer! Whether it is in herJohnny jump up or her jumperoo, she has got bouncing and flying down and she has the best time doing it.

We can see a little white dot on the bottom right side of her mouth...the first sign of a tooth. It doesn't bother her yet, thank goodness. It is very cute. She is a good eater most of the time. It is funny that she puts everything she finds in her mouth except for little pieces of food. I have tryed to feed her small pieces of fruit or cereal and she thinks that is ridiculous and will not allow it.

I love our reading time before naps and bed time. She adores sitting on our lap and being read to. It is so funny to see her try to grab for more books. She knows the routine. Read and then cuddle. She loves to cuddle and it is such a precious time to me.

Here are some pictures of her sitting up so great and playing and in her jumperoo on morning she turned 8 months.

Another Month

Note to Selah:

My sweet Selah, we are having such a good time with you at this age. At 7 months now you have become so much easier and so much harder.

The day you turned 7 months you rolled over for the first time all by yourself! I put you on your tummy and within a second you went back to your back...you haven't ever really cared to be on your tummy. You are so cuddly now. You love to wrap your arms around my neck and rub your face on mine. You give the funnest wet kisses. I love them! Sometimes you even blow zerberts on my cheeks. Your favorite time is in your Johnny jump up. You love it so much. It is so fun to see the freedom you have in it jumping and spinning around like you are flying. You still can't get enough peek a boo. I will hear you giggling and sure enough you have a blanket over your head.

Sleeping times are such a struggle now. You have spoiled us by being a great and easy sleeper, so just when we think we have you figured out you go and change. Night time is quite the challenge. Also, you have this thing with pulling my hair. It really hurts, when I have my hair pulled up you pick out single strands from the bottom one by one...ouch! You got sick for the first time with a cold and ear infection. Hearing you cough at night just made me want to cry.

Half Birthday

Already 6 Months!

(sorry so late posting this one...Selah is already going to be 7 months tomorrow, time flies).

These were some pictures taken the day you turned 6 months old.

In the morning, watching our colorful little Christmas tree. You almost roll over...but not quite.

Happy after your first feeding of baby food.

I love your old man hat :)

Check Spelling

Oh Selah, you are growing so fast right in front of my eyes. I love spending my days with you. At 6 months you can do so many more things. You have gotten much stronger and can pretty much sit all by yourself. Today you ate some food for the first time and did a great job. You go crazy jumping on your jumperoo and johny jumpup. I would say you are obsessed with peek a boo. Anytime there is a blanket near you you must put it over your face. I want you to stay just like you are sweet baby girl.
